Junction City, Texas, September 9, 2012--Lucinda Trail, editor and publisher of the Star-Gazer ever since the newspaper's former editor and publisher Marcus Cash got sent up the river, is happy to announce that her ass-kicking star reporter Jock Stewart's collection of stories has been nominated for a 2013 Pushcart Prize.
Titled Jock Talks...Politics, the collection was nominated by Stewart's book publisher, Vanilla Heart (VHP) of Washington State.
According to Trail, "Stewart was screwed out of the Pulitzer because somebody didn't like what he said about the imperial federal government. This nomination is vidication."
Stewart, who was drinking Talisker Scotch out of the bottle was unavailable for comment. However, he was overheard at a recent office party saying, "That Pushcart sure ain't no baloney."
Informed sources claim that Pushcart Nominations are given to "the best of the best of the best." While that phrase sounds shockingly like a humorous bit of dialogue out of "Men In Black," most of the beautiful people in the publishing world are on record with the the Department of Homeland Security as confessing that they would sell their grandmothers for a nomination.
"Stewart is the best thing since white bread," said VHP publishing Tsar Kimberlee Williams from her Gulfstream G550 just before it landed in Honolu. Williams, in Hawai'i for a luau convention, told reporters that Jock Talks...Politics is the "closest thing to damn good journalism" since Horace Greeley.
Stewart's Jock Talks...Politics is available on Kindle.
